This I Believe

I am convinced that if we as a society work diligently in every other area of life and neglect the family, it would be analagous to straightening deck chairs on the Titanic. —Stephen R. Covey

I’ve decided that today I’m going to banish thoughts of homework fights, Miralax, and indecisive hounds.

Today I’m going to focus on what’s going right, on what’s going really really well.

Some of our friends and acquaintances who received our Christmas card this year told us that it made them want to be a part of the family — they wanted to leap into the photos with us. So I unearthed one from the small natural disaster that is my desk, and looked at it with fresh eyes.  (Parts of it are excerpted below.)

Maybe there’s no such thing as luck, maybe there’s only hard work, but I decided I’m lucky to be a part of this family. And we work hard at making it work.

Not an iceberg to be seen....

I LOVE your family and I agree you are lucky and all those who are blessed to know you are lucky as well – not to mention entertained!! These are GREA! Thank You! Almost feels like I’m getting a little piece of you everyday – not quite the same as in person, but good nonetheless! XOXO
