Shhhhh.
Here’s what I’m listening to today:
- cement mixer
- guy
pounding the daylights out ofinstalling the new hardwood floor in our family room - tile delivery truck
- dogs barking at tile delivery truck
- masons
pounding the daylights out ofprepping the chimney - some kind of
badtween-y music from an iPod that’s not plugged into headphones - a stone cutter operated by the aforementioned mason
- some kind of saw operated by the aforementioned floor guy
- my 8 year old singing some kind of Five for Fighting song
- stones being dropped by a high height by Mr. Mason
- wood flooring being dropped from a moderate height by Mr. Floor Guy
- hammering from Mr. Floor Guy
- phone ringing (Hi Mom)
- gravel driveway crunching with arrival of a JC Penny truck
- dogs barking at JC Penny truck
- drilling by audio/visual installer
- cell phone of Mr. A/V
- Polish conversation of Mr. Mason and crew
- clanging of debris hitting the dumpster
- slamming of porta-potty door
(Yes, I’ve got both a dumpster AND a port-potty. Don’t hate me ’cause it’s beautiful here at my estate….)
- the scritchy scritchy scritch of dog nails as the Doodle duo try to escape the cacophony through an open door
- brothers fighting over open Gatorade bottle
- the clickety clack of the keyboard as I try to find some order in this chaos.
I’ll let you know if when I find it.

Oh my goodness! You captured that so well! I’m a true fan of silence and this post actually tensed me up and wanted me to say BE QUIET! Good job. I hope you found some peace and quiet at some point.
